MARCH FAVORITES

I was just going to open this post with… “This is a new type of post” but I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot lately lol. I’ve always wanted this website to be a place where women came to look better, feel better and lead lives they absolutely love.
For the most part, I feel the best way to accomplish that is through health and fitness. That’s my true passion and why I mostly share workouts, recipes, training tips, motivation and more.  Every now and then I fell like a bit more random/lifestyle content would make that tagline (look better, feel better and lead lives we absolutely love) come to life!
For this post, I thought I would share my favorite products from the month… this was a highly requested post when I sent out that survey a few weeks back. I received thousands of “more product review” requests, which is like music to my ears so I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

1. SODASTREAM (here)
This was actually a birthday gift I purchased for Anthony about a week ago and it quickly became one of our favorite household items of the month. While it’s traditionally used to make soda, we (or while I’m pregnant I should say he) primarily uses it to carbonate pre workout drinks. Our favorite pre workouts – from an ingredient standpoint – are in powder version but we love the fizzy nature of carbonated energy drinks so we make our own. Carbonate water with the SodaStream, pour it into a large (so no explosions lol!) cup, and gently, gradually mix in your pre workout. I’ve heard you break even with this product after about 1 year of use, but I find the greatest benefit is not having to lug carbonated water jugs from the grocery store. I’m also looking forward to making some yummy summer drinks (and a few adult beverages post baby) with this!
2. NIKE JUVENATE (here)
Favorite sneaker of the month and 2017 so far! I own 3 pairs of these shoes and you’ve probably seen them on my feet a bazillion times. First off, I got sick of the recent prices of athletic shoes. I understand investing in items we wear daily, especially items that promote health, but when I see sneakers for $250+ I’m just like no thanks, I’ll run barefoot lol. These are significantly less than most Nike’s I come across. I love how lightweight and breathable they are. They’re comfortable whether I’m doing cardio, weight training or running errands. They come in so many colors. And, I’ll say it again… the price! I’ve scooped these up on sale for $55 and in other colors, I’ve maxed out at $65.99.
3. LOREAL LUMI FOUNDATION (here)
They say when you get pregnant your nails strengthen, your hair shines and your skin glows. Well, not for me lol. The first 6 months, my hair and skin were so dry. I could layer on moisturizer and 2 hours later had flakey skin. Plus, pimples?! Really? Last month, I “re-found” this foundation when I was at the drug store. It was my go-to in college when I was on a tighter budget and then I got caught up in higher end beauty products when I could actually afford them. Lately, I’ve received so many “you’re glowing” compliments. Maybe I’ve turned a corner in my pregnancy or maybe it’s this foundation I went back to using lol. I’m not sure but it’s too good not to share. I apply it with THIS which helps create the dewy (but not overly shiny), luminescent look. I would say if you’re super oily this may not be the best option, but it’s great for this time of year and spring break season!
4. CHARLIE’S SOAP LAUNDRY POWDER (here)
Total first mom… I had no clue I was supposed to wash my baby’s clothing before he wore it, so once I heard that, I almost immediately started and then yet again, learned I needed to use special laundry detergent free of harsh chemicals, fragrances, etc. I did a lot of research on natural laundry detergents and this one was highly rated for being natural but also effectively cleaning clothing and getting rid of stains. You know how you read an article on some health topic and think, “oh my gosh, I need to change everything before I die” lol. Well, that’s how I felt once I researched what some detergents contain and do to our skin. Anyway, I’ve just become more conscious of natural household products… I switched over our laundry to this brand and I feel good about snuggling on my pillowcase without thinking of rubbing my face on chemicals lol.
5. INVISIBOBBLE (here)
These babies are the new-age hair ties. The claim is that they distribute the ponytail weight more evenly so that you don’t get that super tight/headache feeling and they don’t leave a crease. I would have to agree that they do the job well! I also like they come in fun colors (pink + turquoise) but also subtle colors (blonde, brown, clear, black). If I don’t lose these, I can justify the cost because I always take my ponytail out because of a headache.
6. PANINI MAKER (here)
This was an inexpensive kitchen item that I’ve used more times than I can count this month. When I was working on the new Warm + Toasty Cookbook, I must have majorly been craving sandwiches and put in a panini maker, every recipe came out tasting better than I initially thought it would be! This inexpensive kitchen product creates some seriously delicious healthy meals and I highly recommend it!
7. MULE HEELS (here)
I apologize if you’re getting sick of me sharing about these heeled sandals, but if you’re looking for a summer shoe, consider these. Every summer, I feel like I find a dressy sandal and overwear it all season. In 2015, it was THIS one. In 2016, it was THIS one. And for 2017, THIS one is my go-to. Unfortunately, I still get blisters (I’m so susceptible to these) with my 2015 and 2016 options, but I’ve never worn a more comfortable heel than these mules. Maybe it’s that they’re slide one or that they have a chunky heel?! Anyway, they’re so on trend, match with every outfit and feel great on my feet. I’ll continue wearing these on repeat!
8. EYELASH TEE (here)
I apologize if it’s cheesy to add something I designed to my monthly favorites. I even asked my husband, Anthony: “do you think it’s ridiculous if I add my own shirt to my March favorites post.” His reply totally rationalized it: “yes, but you do wear that top like every other day. Remember when I caught you wearing it 3 days in a row without washing?!” LOL! I just love the eyelash graphic, cute text and how it fits! I’m a sucker for anything off the shoulder and love the slouchy look of this with black leggings. I’m thrilled you ladies have been loving on this shirt too!
