ConfidenceKini Body Tip of the Day: Life is all about perspective, right?! The way we view a circumstance dictates how we feel about it and eventually, the impact it has on our life. When it comes to healthy living, I like to take the perspective of follow the guidelines but make the rules. For instance, there’s a general guideline of incorporating lean protein into a diet especially for those who weight train to help with muscle recovery, but I make the rules about exactly which types of protein sources I have (my favorites are salmon, lean ground beef, pork, shrimp, scallops, and eggs) and in which amounts (I tell you those in Eat Your Way Lean). I make the rules and in my programs, I suggest you follow my guidelines but make your own rules so it works best for you! When you take this perspective, it will help you feel empowered and in control of the healthy decisions you make; the impact it will have on your life will take form in amazing physical results, an optimistic attitude, a peaceful soul, and a being full of life and energy!

I shared this picture on Instagram yesterday. It’s from 2 years ago, and it was the first time I found out how to combine weight training workouts and healthy eating approaches to work! I struggled forever with taking random suggestions and tips, feeling frustrated when I didn’t the work pay off physically. I created a system that is “guidelines” to allow individuals to make the exact rules for them! For those who ask what I did to get my body started, I used Total Body Transformation & Eat Your Way Lean (they literally came from my food & training journal).
