Tip of the Day: So, it’s Friday and I truly hope you’re looking forward to your weekend, but sometimes as health and fitness enthusiasts, we cannot help but worry a bit about how our weekend fun may sacrifice our healthy eating and/or workout schedule. I’ve shared time and time again that my top tip to making your weekend a success is to wake up early; I’m not suggesting you wake up before sunrise, but instead of sleeping into 10am, try waking up at 8 for instance. Then, immediately go to the gym.

Why? You know that euphoric feeling you get after a great workout?! Well, it will set the tone for your entire weekend. My personal strategy is to have a productive, fun, and packed Saturday. Mine typically consists of: a morning workout, errands mid-morning, a lunch date with a girlfriend, an afternoon of shopping and strolling with my family, a dinner date with my love, and something fun with a group after (or a movie in my bed, which I love just as much if not more). Then, use your Sunday to lounge, get stuff done around the house, and prepare for the week ahead! Don’t forget it is okay – in fact, it is beneficial – to rest a bit and allow your batteries to recharge.
