You know those days where your gym bag is pack, your in your workout clothes, your shoes are tied, and you can’t get yourself to go to the gym. Yeah…one of those days! Bodyweight exercises for the WIN. Amazing workout with absolutely no equipment!

Tip of the Day: Embrace rest days! Take a nap! Get good sleep! Make that a priority! I’m often asked if I take a day off from the gym. Short answer: absolutely! Long answer: my “rest” days come in all shapes and form and instead of planning them (ie: Sunday = day off from gym), I take them as needed (ie: Tuesday = I’m sore from head to toe, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep, and I go to school and work all day). There’s a difference between making excuses and knowing when it’s smart to take a rest day. Excuses often come when there is a lack of motivation. Educated decisions of rest days are drawn from listening to your body and using that extra time wisely. For instance, just the other day I woke up at 5:30AM to get to the gym,  went to school for 8am, then worked after until 10PM. Unfortunately, I could not fall asleep until 1:30AM (that’s 20 hours awake – way to much for me). When I woke up the next day, I was mentally and physically exhausted and my body was sore all over. It was wise to not push it and rather use that hour not spent in the gym to grocery shop & cook meals.

Just wondering if you eat before you workout in the morning? I find it hard to workout on an empty stomach but I need a good amount of time for my stomach to feel settled after eating.
