Chest & Shoulders – 7/24

Chest & Shoulders
Chest:
-incline dumbbell press
     -superset with incline push ups
-flat bench dumbbell press
     -superset with decline push ups (pictured)
-chest press machine (drop sets)

Shoulders:
-barbell shoulder press
     -superset with barbell upright rows
-kettlebell clean and press
-shoulder press machine (drop sets)

TIP OF THE DAY: Adding lean mass to the shoulders through presses. As I’ve mentioned, one of my goals as of late is to add lean muscle mass to my shoulders (a weak spot of mine); I particularly like shoulder muscles because I think they give the arm in general a “fit” appearance. I’ve been switching up my technique for building  delts, and believe shoulder presses (of all varieties) work the best for me personally, and hopefully some of you! Therefore, today, I did a press emphasized shoulder workout, which gave me a great pump and hopefully stimulates great growth!

Eat Clean to Get Lean: What every morning of mine includes – green juice. This juice recipe = cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, parsley, and ginger

Juicing Benefits: 
() 95% of the vitamins and enzymes our bodies need are found in the juice of raw fruits and vegetables 
() One would need to eat 2 lbs of carrots, 10-12 apples, or 8 lbs of spinach to obtain the nutritional benefits in a 16oz juice
Life Of Lauren:
Slacking on fitness posts as of late as my life has been about moving, college orientation (taking a few prerequisites for dental school after graduating), and getting settled in the South
I know how unbearable the Houston humidity and summers can be, but I will take it any day over Wisconsin (70s in the summer – no thank you)
I think nerds are sexy & school is cool! (seriously). Orientation today at the University of Houston. I was so excited to hear that some of you go there – if you ever see me, come say hello =D
I truly feel like I have more blessings than I deserve. I must admit that moving and leaving family and friends showed me just how much I have to be thankful for. The emotions my loved ones showed towards my departure speaks volumes – always a believer in quality > quantity.
