Cardio Day 10/20

Cardio Day: 45min treadmill
-5min warm up (walking)
-35min run/inclined walking
     -12min run
     -10min inclined walking (12+ incline)
     -13min run
-5min cool down (walking)

-20min of stretching (YES, I said 20 minutes of stretching =] )

TIP OF THE DAY: Static vs. dynamic stretches. Static stretching refers to holding a stretching position for a minimum of 30seconds up to 2minutes, which will lengthen the muscle. Static stretches should be done during rest periods or following a workout as this will relax the muscle. Contrary, dynamic stretching involves a slight bouncing motion in which a stretching position involves some momentum as opposed to being held; dynamic stretching should be done prior to or during a workout to loosen the muscle. While working out, you want to keep your muscles loser to prevent injury and increase your range of motion; completely relaxed muscles are not good during exercise (same reasoning for why competitive pools are kept at cool temperatures to prevent swimmers’ muscles from relaxing).

Both types of stretching are important; on rest days I like static stretching, specifically yoga stretches. I will post some of my favorite yoga stretches!

A braided pony tail can only mean one thing… CARDIO DAY! Take a “to do” into a “did” – keep that booty moving today!

HAPPY SWEETEST DAY TO ALL MY FITNESS LOVERS! I hope you all are spending some time today with those sweeties you have in your life <3
