WORKOUTS FOR YOUR GOALS + POST CHALLENGE PLANS


Are your workouts properly aligned with your physical goals?? If not, that could be something holding you back from seeing the results you’re working hard at. 
I only know this because I wasted quite a few years doing workouts that weren’t specific for my goals. When I first began working out, I was a self-proclaimed “cardio bunny.” I loved the elliptical. My favorite workout was a walk/run combo. When I finally joined a gym that had a stair master, I felt like I hit the lotto. I really enjoyed cardio and it is obviously beneficial, so it wasn’t exactly time “wasted.”
However, I had very specific physical goals. I wanted muscle that you could see. I wanted to be able to flex my arms and see my biceps popping. I wanted rounded shoulders and sculpted legs. I strived to look in the mirror and see strength written all over my body, looking as bad ass as I felt inside. 
While cardio is awesome, it’s not exactly the most effective way to put on muscle mass. Running isn’t going to build my biceps. You see what I mean??
On the contrary, I worked with a model who was looking to go from fitness/commercial to fashion/runway. Basically, she wanted to go from fit to skinny (I had to giggle because I spent my whole life doing the opposite). I helped her by changing her workouts to align with her new goals… she began doing a lot more steady state cardio and training like boxing and dancing. The goal was to diminish some of the muscle mass she had but to keep her body tight and lean.

With the ConfidenceKini Challenge wrapping up at the end of the week, I want to help you focus on what to do next and align that plan with your physical goals to get you there fast!
GOAL: primary focus is fat loss, building muscle is secondary
My Suggestions:

  • Weighted workouts a few times per week
  • A combination of HIIT cardio + LISS cardio a few times per week (longer sessions)
  • Focus on nutrition

My 30×30 Fat Loss Shred & LG Sisters Get Strong Plans most resemble this training style
GOAL: focus on sculpting muscle, seeing definition & losing fat simultaneously 
My Suggestions:

  • Daily weight training workouts targeting just 1-3 muscles groups per day
  • Incorporating a push/pull/leg split to allow for training muscle groups 2x per week
  • HIIT cardio occasionally throughout the week (shorter sessions)
  • Focus on nutrition

After yesterday’s exciting news, I feel a bit like Oprah today on her favorite things episodes (if only I could say, “you’re all going home with a brand new car” hehe). But, guess what??

THE WEIGHT TRAINING PLAN 2.0 (gym + home versions) will be available right at the start of summer for our annual SummerFitcation Challenge! 
These workouts are some of my very best for building a fit and lean body. They’re quintessential LG workouts. I just know you’re going to love them and the way they make you look and feel.
The training split is on another level. The first phase focuses on muscle and sculpting that fit body; while the second half of the plan focuses on fat loss and revealing your results. The workouts are strategically designed for these goals and they’re the perfect combination of challenging yet motivating.
Plus, there are 2 add on plans for those who want to focus a bit more on fat loss and/or a bit more on continuing to sculpt those abs. I can’t wait for you to see what’s coming.
If summer is the season of short shorts and tank tops, then I’m going to make sure you feel AMAZING in your skin.
