MEET KIMME
How did you first get started with your health and fitness journey?
February 1st, 2016, I made the best decision of my life and started the total body transformation program. I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life at 170 pounds. I had gained over 20 pounds after graduating high school and felt that it was time to get back in shape. My original goal was to lose about 20 pounds because I didn’t think I would be able to lose more. I had tried losing weight before by eating better with minimal exercise and nothing seemed to work for me until I started lifting. I had tried other types of workout programs but there was nothing I really enjoyed. I loved the workouts that Lauren came up with because they were quick, fun and made me enjoy lifting. After this program, I had lost the 20 pounds that I had originally wanted to lose. Then, I started training at Big Sky with Kyle and lost another 15 pounds with some help from him. I never thought that I would get back to weighing 135 pounds like I did sophomore year of high school. This program completely transformed my body and now I have never felt better.
How do you overcome a plateau (mentally or physically)?
I tend to get emotional support from my friends and family a lot. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They always know how to make me feel better and I couldn’t thank them enough for their support throughout my weight loss journey. My coworkers especially have motivated me and I’m glad I can share a healthy lifestyle with them.
What does a balanced healthy lifestyle look like for you?
A balanced healthy lifestyle for me is to just enjoy everything that I do. When it comes to food, I love to meal prep during the week and tend to go out on weekends. Back when I started the total body transformation program, I was on a strict diet but now I find myself eating more of whatever I want because I’ve lost so much weight. I try to workout 5 days a week, but sometimes it can be tough with going to school full time, working almost 30 hours a week and still having time to go out with friends. If I can’t make it to the gym or I have a cheat meal, I never get discouraged because I know I can get back into it the next day.

What do you love about weight training? Would you suggest it to other women who may be hesitant?
For me, it was the best way to lose weight. I tried doing other programs and I just couldn’t find something that I liked. Weight training and cardio has become a part of my daily life. I would definitely suggest trying it. I didn’t feel overwhelmed at all while working out at Big Sky. Lauren’s lifting programs are quick, easy and very enjoyable. I would recommend lifting programs to everyone who is trying to lose weight.
How has the LG Accountability Community played a role in your success?
Seeing other girls succeed with losing weight by weight training makes me so happy. A lot of the times when I am at the gym working out there are mostly guys there. Knowing that I have a fitness sisterhood to back me up is what keeps me going. I can always rely on Lauren and the LG sisters for workouts and motivation.

What advice would you share with a fellow LG Sister looking to get happier and healthier?
NEVER give up. I really thought I would never be able to lose 35 pounds and even enjoy doing it. I used to weigh myself once a week when I was doing the total body transformation program. There were a couple weeks where the scale either didn’t change at all or I only lost a pound or two. I never got discouraged though because I knew that eventually I would get there, and I did! Pushing yourself to try your hardest can be very rewarding and results in endless happiness. I have made that my motto every since I started lifting. As long as I know I did my best, I will be happy with whatever the outcome is.
