Monday Mindset Motivation: I am my choices

Monday’s are for our Monday Mindset Motivation… it’s our quick read to get our week started on a positive note. As health enthusiasts, we know the power of our thoughts. If we can sustain a healthy, positive mindset, everything else will follow! Today’s Mindset Motivation is “I am a collection of my positive choices.”
The other day, I found myself speechless when I read a post by a fellow LG Sister, Melissa (aka IG: @melissa_clementine)

Here is a bit of it…
“I have been yoyoing with my habits for a while now – you know the story: mostly healthy habits (I am ALWAYS consistent with my workouts, this is food we are talking about, I reaallly do struggle with food because I love eating and I can eat. A lot.) gradually more and more “treats” sneaking their way in until they became near daily, which let’s face it, is NOT a treat, it is now a LIFESTYLE. Faced with some kind of looming event I would find the motivation to clean it up for a week or so, only to adopt the same “fuck it” attitude once said event had passed. The worst part of this, far worse than a little extra fat and less than perfect abs, is that a healthy lifestyle is something I value, and not making good choices makes me disappointed in myself. Making good choices roughly just half of the time isn’t who I want to be. I don’t want to look in the mirror and see months worth of bad choices reflected on my body when I KNOW BETTER.”
Should I just end this post here?! lol
First off, let’s make it clear… we aren’t going to be 100%, 100% of the time. That’s just life and it’s perfectly okay.
But, when we notice ourselves having more empty calories meals that nutrient dense ones, when we notice we’ve skipping more workouts than we’ve made time for, when we feel yucky more days than we feel good, it’s time to change things around.
With the Beauty + Booty Challenge kicking off today… scratch that. Because you deserve to feel beautiful every day of the week, I want you to see yourself in more than just a physical sense. I want you to view yourself as a reflection of the choices you make.
Think about that for a second.
How absolutely empowering!
Like, I want to go saute some kale right now lol.
But, seriously… every time you look in the mirror, I want you to see your choices.
Now, that may be a bit scary to some.
But, I’m not sending this message to the general public. I’m sending this directly to you… someone who prioritizes health, someone who understands the value, someone who makes it a lifestyle.
When you look at yourself tomorrow and you skin is glowing, realize it’s the choice you made to stay hydrated!
When you see that sparkle in your eye at 830 AM, realize it’s the natural energy bubbling from within thanks to that healthy breakfast you chose to start your day with!
If we truly are a collection of our choices, we owe it to ourselves to make the healthiest ones possible.
Like Melissa said… I don’t want to look in the mirror and see months worth of bad choices reflected on my body because I know better.
And we deserve better.
There’s always two places we know so well… 1) where we are now and 2) where we want to be
It’s all so easy to be miserable getting from here to there, but I think the key is to actually focus on this mindset.
Take the journey one choice at a time. With every healthy choice you make, you’ll move closer to where you want to be.
If you look in the mirror and feel frustrated, feeling you’re not getting to your goals as quickly as you’d like, recall all the powerful, positive choices you’ve made. You’re on your way there! You’re doing so much! Be king to yourself.
Breaking the journey down into choices makes it more empowering.
Today, let’s strive to make choices that push us forward, choices that get us closer to our best selves, choices that make us feel good!
