#LGFitAndLean2016 Challenge: Back + Chest (W1D5)

It’s our last weighted workout of the week….let’s give it our all!

FIT PORTION TIPS:

  • Sets can be counted by time: ~1 minute or reps: specified below
  • Focus on taking only 45 second rests between sets
  • Choose the correct weight for each exercise… the weight you’re using should make the movement challenging enough so that you can complete 20 reps, but not easy enough that you could complete 25-ish

  • Watch the clock to complete 30 sec “on” + 30 sec “off”

Healthy Habit #5: I am -> I choose. I am is one of the most powerful statements we can make. Yet, we seem to overuse and unfortunately, abuse those words. “I am tired.” “I am not able to do that.” “I am stupid.” “I am so far away from my goals.” These are just some of the many things we utter without even realizing the impact they carry.

You’re here because yes, of course, you want to look better, but what’s really special about you is that you’re in this to feel better… to have sky high confidence… to see the best the world has to offer… to enjoy every bit of your life! Achieving that comes with the realization that everything is a choice. <- if today’s theme is bold, it doesn’t get much bolder than that!
When I first heard “everything is a choice” I recall jumping to defend myself with thoughts like “I can’t control everything that happens to me like a red light, rainy weather or the biting comment my co-worker makes.” Exactly right, we can’t control that, but we certainly control our reaction. Our reactions form our reality. I am statements are the start of that! Instead of saying I am, replace it with I choose and see how what you use to continue that sentence changes.
I am sad -> I choose to be sad. I am happy -> I choose to be happy. Powerful, right?! Our thoughts, words and what we share with the world become our destiny. Let’s make it amazing!
Habit Homework – catch yourself every time you make an “I am…” statement. Mentally ((and outwardly if you’re up for that)) correct it to be positively charged!
