Tip of the Day: Happy Friday! A question I see time and time again is: “what do you order at a restaurant.” It’s pretty fitting for today as we kick off the weekend and maybe enjoy dining out a time or two. Before I answer this question, I want to begin by sharing that I’ve run the gamut with healthy eating while at restaurants from having absolutely no self-control and ordering the most unhealthy item to feeling afraid to eat out at restaurants, thinking I would get off track. Where ever you’re currently at with eating out in a healthy style just know it can be done AND, most importantly, enjoyed! There are two things I order regularly at restaurants: a salad topped with chicken or scallops ((my personal fav)) or a piece of fish. The reason I select those two items is because when I eat out, I get more excited for the chips and salsa, the bread and oil or the fun appetizer that comes first. By ordering a chicken salad or fish, I can keep the carbohydrate content of the entree lower to make room for the appetizer I crave…all guilt free!

What are some things you order to keep it on the lighter side?? I would love to hear!

Looking is amazing! You will find two things I purchase regularly at restaurants: a salad topped along with chicken or scallops or a bit of fish. The reason I choose those two items happens because when I eat away, I get more excited for that chips and salsa, the actual bread and oil or even the fun appetizer which comes first.
