4 Ways to Maintain the Balance in Your Life


What exactly is a balanced life? To me, maintaining balance
means that the pushes and pulls of life are within a comfortable range. Life
will always have seasons. In some seasons, work will be the main focus while at
other times, your children, wedding, travel, or schoolwork become the priority.
Naturally, our priorities shift from time to time, but if ever the pull in one
direction is too strong, we must reassess to better maintain the balance in our
lives.

4 Ways To Better Maintain the Balance in Your Life: 
(1) Goals

Setting goals in major areas of your life, such as career,
personal, and health is not only beneficial for achievement, but also for
identifying what’s important to you. By simply knowing what’s most important,
you can use that as a guide to keeping a balance. 

(2) Positivity
Life is all about perspective…how many times have you heard
me say that before?! It’s so true! Focusing on finding the silver lining in
everything and every situation helps a great deal with maintaining balance. It’s
easy to become overwhelmed by situations in the external world; those times may
be a sign to focus on the internal and what is going on within you to maintain
the inner and outer you balance as well.

(3) Prep
For me, having balance comes from taking the time to
prepare. With work, I map out my projects far ahead of time. With fitness, I
schedule each workout into my day and lay outfits out ahead of time if I’m
waking up early for the gym.  With
nutrition, I prepare most of my meals ahead of time. Because I’m always on the
go, having options that are “lunchbox-friendly” is very important to me ((see

(4) Enjoyment
Just as we prioritize work, school, and family functions, we
must also work in regular opportunities to enjoy our lives and what we love to
do! Love the outdoors? Make it a priority to get outside and enjoy each
weekend. Love food? Make it a priority to not only eat healthy, but also to
include healthy foods you enjoy eating! When my sweet tooth kicks in, I crave
