Tip of the Day: If your totally on top of your health and fitness game during the weekdays, but find it a bit more of a challenge on the weekends, know you’re totally not alone! In fact, I believe you should thoroughly enjoy your weekend. The trick is to keep your healthy habits without allowing them to hold you back.
(1) MAKE A WEEKEND TO DO LIST: As health and fitness enthusiasts, so many of us are go-getters and we thrive off of setting goals and achieving them. As you know, I’m addicted to to-do lists and make several a day, which many of you have shared you do the same (love how we are all truly share so much in common). Therefore, you may find it very beneficial to make a to-do list for your weekend. Getting everything down on paper that you want to get to on the weekend will help you actually make the time for it. Don’t forget to schedule in plenty of time for fun and relaxation!
(2) GET OUTDOORS: Outdoors = active! If you’re looking for a way to keep your weekends active simply get outside! With the summer weather rolling in here in the US, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the weather while keeping your weekend activities healthy! I love finding a new park or downtown area to go for a stroll. Be adventurous, have fun, and go on foot! You can rack up miles by enjoying your weekend outdoors!
(3) KEEP YOUR PORTIONS IN CHECK: And this is where most of us struggle, but we don’t have to! With a switch up in the schedule, our meal schedule must be adjusted to our weekend activities. Fortunately for you, you have the guide on how to eat healthy whether you’re cooking in your kitchen or eating out at restaurants in Eat Your Way Lean. The most important guideline to follow for your weekend nutrition is the one on portions; I teach you exactly how much of what to eat at each meal. On the weekend, your food selection can ease up; instead of brown rice and sweet potatoes, you may opt for pasta and french fries, but that’s perfectly okay as long as you still use the portions discussed in Eat Your Way Lean to make up your food plate! I can’t tell you how many weekends I’ve enjoyed yummy meals out without getting off track by following the guidelines! Enjoy guilt free by keeping your portions in check!
