It’s my birrrrthday, yay!
I’m quite looking forward to year 24 – I don’t think I’ve been more excited for a birthday!

Anthony & I came to Austin, Texas for hiking, boating, spa-time, yoga, and other fun, yet relaxing birthday festivities; hotel travel can be a big challenge, so I stop at the grocery store daily for things that I can easily eat in the room and while we are out and about.
I told you lemon water was one of my new years resolutions, and I’m sticking to it!

In case you haven’t noticed….I really do live in those PJ’s, one of my many robes and slippers; dressing up has now become yoga pants and nikes 😉

Healthy Habit #3: (( On The Go))
Have you noticed the pace of life is so incredibly fast?! We are here then there, and almost all of our lives could be described as “busy” on a daily basis. It’s not a bad thing, but we have to refrain from using “busy” as an excuse. Instead, we must adopt healthy on the go habits. I would say the most challenging aspect is eating healthy when we’re away from home, whether it be a day full of classes, a long work schedule, a vacation or anything else that diverges us from a typical schedule

3 Ways To Stay Healthy On The Go:
(1) Stop at a Grocery Store Instead of a Restaurant: many grocery stores area adopting fresh food cafes and eateries as part of their store. Many of us would never think to stop at a grocery store for lunch, but hot bars are a great option! They’re great because you can control the portions and hand pick the selections ((so it fits your food plate perfectly if you’re eating according to Eat Your Way Lean))

(2) Focus on Fluids: I bet you can think  of a time when you were running errand after errand and realized it had been a few hours since you ate or drank. It’s especially important to ensure you’re hydrated when you’re on the go; I’ve shared before that thirst and hunger stem from the same area in the brain, so the feelings are often confused (ie: you think you’re hungry, but you’re actually thirsty). Always carry a water bottle with you when you’re at work, school, or in your car!

(3) Pack a Meal: probably the most common and most dependable approach to eating healthy while you’re out and about is to pack a meal and bring it with you. What I often suggest is to double up on how you much you cook for dinner so that you can keep the left overs in a food storage container and grab that the next day for a meal.

Challenge: If you’re on the go at all today, share how you’re doing it in a healthy way
