Tip of the Day: When you begin making healthy choices for yourself, it’s often hard to get others to respect your new decision making. I receive a lot of questions on how to get your family and friends to understand/respect your new lifestyle. I was reminded of this over the weekend; instead of giving me candy for a Halloween treat, my mom bought me freshly made peanut butter. The best way to get those around you support you in your goals is to ask them. It’s difficult for us to respect something we do not understand, so help your friends, family, significant other, or co-workers comprehend what you’re doing and why it means so much to you. Go ahead and ask them for support! You may be pleasantly surprised how much those around you are willing to encourage you when you simply ask!
