Tip of the Day: I’ve spoke a lot about my love of cold-pressed juice, and I’m sure many of you have juiced yourself or been to juice bars. We all seem to agree on the nutritional benefits.  Juicing gives you more bang for your buck in terms of nutrients; in fact, an 8 oz juice can contain the amount of nutrients found in 2-3 cups of vegetables. Still, placing a juice order can be based on taste preference or nutritional benefits. Carrots are a vegetable I always like to include in my juice for many reasons: 1) vision – beta-carotene is found in carrots, which is converted into vitamin A in the liver, then converted in the retina to rhodopsin (pigment necessary for night vision) 2) Complexion – the conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A aids in preventing acne, uneven skin tone, and aging skin 3) Antiseptic – carrots have been shown to prevent infection. Aside from all the health benefits, carrot juice is quite delicious!
