Tip of the Day: It it’s not broke, don’t fix it. As health and wellness enthusiasts, we are in a constant state of wanting to better ourselves, and the majority of the time, this is a wonderful thing. Do you ever find yourself getting caught up with the newest, latest, and greatest? We want to test out the newest running shoe in hopes that it will improve our mile time. We try a new training technique we read about in a magazine. Occasionally, it is a good reminder to analyze what you’re doing, identify what is working, and stick with it. This may sound like quite a contradiction to my usual suggestions of switch ups, but the two actually go hand in hand. I suggest sticking with what works and switching up what doesn’t. So for instance, if you find yourself hitting a plateau with your weight loss, you may find that you’re enjoying all the healthy meals you’re making, but your workouts are no longer motivating or challenging. Stick with the meals you’re loving, while switching your workouts to a different time, method, trying a new class, or working out with a buddy. Switch ups are beneficial, but don’t feel the need to constantly change just because.
