I often get the questions, “do you work?” or “do you go to school?” Yes and yes. Today, I woke up a little extra earlier to get in a workout and review for my physics exam, before I attend classes during the day and work in the evening. I am a normal girl, who attempts to find balance in this beautifully, chaotic world. I’m not “hardcore” like I see some people proclaim; I simply make time for the things I love and the things that add value to my life. MOTIVATION MONDAY – what are you doing today that will contribute positively to your life?
Gym Style Details:

Tip of the Day: Allow
me to share with you a little something that helped me transform my
life: the 80/20 rule or the Pareto principle. In short, economist
Vilfredo Pareto found that 80% of effects were stemming from 20% of
causes. This simplistic rule can be applied to just about anything. In
business, it may mean 80% of sales come from 20% of clients or 20% of
the defects cause 80% of the problems. In relationships, it may mean
that 20% of the people in your life contribute to 80% of the time you
spend with others. What this means to me is that only 20% of the things I
do in a day really matter: just 20% create lasting results. You know
that little phrase, “work smarter, not harder” – this is where to apply
it! Pinpoint the people and aspects of your life that bring you the most
happiness, the most fulfillment, the most love, and the most success.
We only get one chance to live – this is it! Don’t waste your days doing
things you don’t enjoy or being around people you don’t love. Find your
passion…find your 20%, so that you can maximize greatness in your
life. I did it and I promise you that if you take some simple steps, you
can too!

3 Simple Steps to Take:
(1) Journal for 1 week, noting the parts of your day and people that contributed to certain emotions; after that week look back on that journal to help you identify the areas of your life that may be part of the 20%. Place less time and energy on the rest.
(2) Do more of the things that make you happy. If working out makes you happy, but you don’t always make the time for it…now is the time! Eliminate that hour of TV and get to the gym!
(3) Keep a gratitude journal, jotting down 3-5 things each night that you are thankful for. You can log this right in the notes section of your phone or with the classic pen and paper. “It is not happy people who are grateful; it is grateful people who are happy.” When you remind yourself of all the things you have to be thankful for, more of that becomes apparent in your life.

Hi Lauren! I love your blog and your instagram updates!
It really is about finding passion and balancing things. It's not easy to go to school, work and then find time to workout. Meal prepping, trying to eat clean and working out on top of all the other work can really exhaust you. But it's all about prioritizing and get it done. And the motivation to do that really comes from passion. Your blog and your pictures inspire me to push my self and get to the gym even on hard days. Keep up the amazing work!!! 🙂
    xoxo

Bulgarian split squats are one of my favorite exercises! I'm still feeling my sets from Saturday. Every now in then when I'm feeling crazy I like to do them in plyo form 🙂
