-Incline push ups

When I have a lot on my plate, I tend to lose excitement towards working out and eating healthy. I simply act out of habit, knowing I always eat certain foods and workout around a certain time of the day. However, it’s all perspective! I’ve been trying to change my mindset from “get it done to finish your tasks” to “what a great opportunity for some me time to do something I love.” What perspective can you move take in order to love a healthy life?

I like when I see my muscles begin to POP! Workouts come easy to me – it’s my idea of fun, time for myself, and a great stress reliever. It’s the consistency of eating healthy that challenges me most. Still, the diet part is what my body reflects most! Working hard every day on staying consistent and enjoying the process!

Tip of the Day: Create your mini gym in any gym. Don’t be afraid to rearrange the gym a bit to accommodate your workout – within reason! First off, I write my workouts with gym design in mind; at most gyms it would be very difficult to do a tri set that involves the leg press -> the cable -> the treadmill without taking some serious time in between and without the risk of losing your machine. You’ll notice that this workout can be done on a bench, bringing over a set or two of dumbbells and a barbell. This is what I mean by creating your own gym; carve out a small space to place these dumbbells, barbell and have room to work on a bench. This will allow you to be efficient and effective in the gym!

    Your note about making your own little gym couldn't have come at a better time. Recently I've been kind of anxious at the gym as I've been going during the busiest hours and am not familiar with machines or exercises. Today I did the chest/tri workout and rocked it with my own little bench area. Inspirational, thank you!
