Legs & Glute Circuit (Week 4) – 11/25

-Dumbbell walking lunges

Tip of the Day: Dumbbell? Barbell? Kettlebell? Plates? In a weighted movement, some struggle between the decision of what type of weight to use. A squat isn’t a squat isnt a squat. You could hold a kettle in between the legs and squat or you could place two dumbbells on the shoulders or you could use a barbell on your back or you could hold a plate overhead or you could (fill in the blank); the possibilities seem to be endless. I simply try to vary it with each movement and use what is available. If I’m looking for the 20lb dumbbells but all are being used, I may grab 25 lb plates (such as in today’s workout); make the best use of what you have and improvise when needed! Switch it up to force that body to adapt!

Eat Clean to Get Lean: My
take on clean eating – if you don’t buy it, you won’t eat it. With my
family all in town for Thanksgiving, I’ve officially taken over the
grocery shopping & food prep so they don’t tempt me. What food is
filling the shelves of my home: eggs, chicken, pork chops, fresh
salmon, chicken sausage, ground turkey, Greek yogurt, unsweetened almond
milk, red potatoes, unsweetened coconut, bananas, mangos, strawberries,
blueberries, and broccoli.
As for me, my meals from this week’s Fitness Barbie Meal Plan are
prepped and stored in containers for a grab and go option. If I don’t
have my healthy meals ready, I get lazy then reach for the junk! NOT
THIS WEEK! Stay on track so you can enjoy your turkey day feast!
