Back & Glutes – 7/13

Back & Glutes
Back:
-seated cable rows
-bent over barbell rows
-assisted pull ups (close grip)
-lat pull down machine (drop sets)
-rack pulls

Glutes:
-butt blaster machine (can substitute with kickbacks)
-weighted glute bridges
     -superset with sumo squats

TIP OF THE DAY: I get asked time and time again (and I ask myself time and time again) – how can I build lean muscle while staying lean or reducing body fat. As I’ve mentioned before, these processes are somewhat opposing, but not impossible to achieve simultaneously. One thing I like to keep constant while achieving the above is to continue lifting with “heavy” weights (see prior post for what “heavy” entails). Keep from slipping into the mindset that light weight = small muscle/lean/skinny/small. That’s not how weight correlates to body composition. Therefore, continue trying to improve with weight as well as keeping form consistent.

“Strive for progress not perfection”
One of my goals has been that “figure 8” shape – working on tightening the waist while building the back.
Enjoyed Milwaukee’s Bastille Days last night – perfect night for some outdoor fun!
I love finding healthy meals in the most unlikely places
