TIP OF THE DAY: DOMS. DOMS is an acronym for delayed onset muscle soreness. Common question: does not being sore the day after a workout mean the workout wasn’t good or hard enough? Totally false. DOMS is the pain/soreness typically experienced the day after a workout that breaks down muscle fibers, such as through weight training. However, the human body is designed to repair damaged muscle fibers through rest and recovery. If you are not sore the day after, you may have a body that can recover quickly. If you are concerned you are never sore, you may want to try incorporating exercises that promote deep targeting of a particular muscle. This can be accomplished by training one or two particular muscle groups per day instead of a total body workout, or by increasing the intensity (ie: weight or reps).

Murdered Shoulders. So sore that I thought my arms were going to break off during yoga!

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I always like to remind myself just how lucky I really am.
Daily Dose of Motivation: I’M FAR FROM PERFECT!
My
life as of late is pictured below. I used to look at pictures of my fitspos &
think “I’m sure they do nothing but workout & eat healthy food all
day.” I can’t speak for all, but that description is highly inaccurate.
I’ve been studying for the DAT 8-10hrs per day. I dislike seeing
comments like “you’re perfect” because I certainly hope that is not the
image I portray. Here is one of my flaws: I’m super obsessive whether it
be working on my body, cleaning my apartment, or studying for an exam; I
often lack balance when I have something big on my plate to focus on,
neglecting other aspect of my life like friends, fun, relaxation, etc.
However, I do more in a day than lift & eat!
The best way to combat stress – taking an hour for yourself.
My mother says: “once you go shellac, you never go back.”
Shellac is a fit chick’s perfect manicure solution – no more chipped nails after tossing around weights!

I got my first shellacs last week & am completely inlove!! So nice to not have to be conscious of being so gentle doing anything! Love that they're my real nails & that they won't get weakened by them 🙂
