TIP OF THE DAY: Plan, plan, plan. Today, I had a short window to get in my workout. 99% of the time, I enter the gym with my workout already written out; this is a tip that I have suggested time and time again as it keeps your workout at a nice pace and ensures a complete workout is achieved. However, today, for the first time in months, I walked into a busy gym without a game plan. I caught myself on more than one occasion brain dead not knowing where to go next and going over what exercises I just did to know what I should do moving forward. If you find yourself in a similar position, I highly suggest writing out your workout ahead of time.  Just as a builder creates a blueprint prior to beginning to build a house, you should plan your workout prior to beginning.

A little bit of bicep silliness 😉
Daily Dose of Motivation: The saying goes – “you never know what you have until it’s gone,” but I would also argue you will never know how good something is until you have it! Whether it’s love, children, or a career, I think there are certain things in life that are unfathomable until truly experienced. While I don’t think anyone needs a significant other to complete them, I think even the most independent people realize how amazing love is when they finally find it. Similarly, I think a dream job, although scary and often difficult to achieve, is more than worth the obstacles that must be overcome. I once thought my summer babysitting job spent by the pool relaxing was the ultimate job, and it certainly was when I was 16; recently, I’ve had a small taste at what it’s like to be a dentist. Nothing worth having comes easy; the price that must be paid for certain achievements often makes us (including me) question if it’s worth it. I’ve found the added responsibilities and prestige bring forth feelings of accomplishment, satisfaction, and happiness only experienced when we push ourselves to that next step. If you find yourself questioning “is it worth it,” I suggest going for it – you’ll never know how wonderful things can be until you have them!
