Legs – 5/17

Legs:
-10min cardio (warm up)
-barbell squats
     -superset with 10 squat jumps
-around the world weighted lunges (see below explanation)
-single leg barbell deadlifts
-lying leg curls
     -superset with leg extensions

TIP OF THE DAY: Around the world lunge explanation – lunges are a beneficial option to incorporate into any leg routine, particularly because they are so versatile. We have stationary lunges, walking lunges, forward lunges, backwards lunges, etc. Why not combine all the best of these movements into one booty kicking exercise?! Begin with feet shoulder width apart (this is your “home” position); weight, such as a barbell, kettlebell or dumbbells are optional. Step forward with your right foot into a traditional, forward lunge. Bring your right foot back to the home position then step laterally/sideways with your right foot into a lateral lunge. Bring your right foot back to home. Finally, step your right foot backwards into a reverse lunge and bring it back home. This movement can be repeated for several reps. Be sure to then switch feet, stepping forward with the left foot and keeping the right foot “home.” Booty burning guaranteed 😉

Cardio & diet can aid in weight/fat loss, but it takes weight training to build and sculpt the body you want. I spent years of my life being “skinny.” Instead of dreaming about the body I wanted, I work hard every day to attain it: curves made of muscle!
FitnessBarbie Gym Style: I’m sorry I haven’t kept up with this; I’ve been asked several times to include outfit tags for my daily gym clothing. I promise to get better at remembering!

Daily Dose of Motivation: Hard
work is the key to success. There is no such thing as a “quick fix” –
we are surrounded by marketing scams that promise a 10lb weight loss
with a certain detox or tight arms & abs in one week. These false
advertisements all lack one central component: hard work. You must be
wiling to commit and put in the effort in order to achieve your goals. I
cannot promise you that it will be easy, but I can tell you it will be
worth it!

FLASHBACK FRIDAY 😉 Regardless of the song/artist/lyrics, I’m totally addicted to fast beats and upbeat songs – I totally find myself going at the rhythm of the songs I’m listening to during my workout.
