Legs & Shoulders – 4/9

Legs & Shoulders
Legs:
-leg extensions
-seated leg curls
-barbell squats
-walking lunges
-calf press

Shoulders:
-smith machine shoulder press
-dumbbell side lateral raises
-high cable rear delt pulls with rope

TIP OF THE DAY: Weight training as a form of HIIT. The ratio of cardio to weight training is a tricky one to figure out & really depends on goals & your body. I lean towards more weight training days over cardio because, as a woman, muscle is more difficult to gain. Still, weight training days (especially legs) can really get your heart rate going, acting as HIIT cardio. High intensity interval training is extremely beneficial, mostly because the calorie burning continues well after the workout is completed!

Operation curves made of muscle is always in effect 🙂

Song of the Day: Hard -Rihanna
“They can say whatever Imma do whatever”
I love Rihanna’s tough as nails attitude; when it comes to health & fitness, it’s not an easy lifestyle for others to understand. Stick to what makes you happy & always do you

What does HIIT stand for? Sorry.

No need to be sorry – HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. Think bursts of high intensity (reps/sprints) followed by complete rest or walking. Basically, the idea is to drive your HR up for a short period of time followed by a short rest to allow it to decrease. A 25min HIIT cardio session can burn around the same amount of calories as a much longer steady state cardio session PLUS it burns calories after the workout as well!
