DAILY DIET MEAL IDEAS

Daily Diet Meal Ideas
For all of you who ask about what I eat in a given day, here are 6 of my meals as of late:
(1) Brown rice & grilled chicken topped with sirrachia with a side of cottage cheese mixed with pepper & sunflower seeds
(2) Shredded chicken over salad with green veggies, balsamic vinegar & lemon for dressing
(3) Baked tilapia seasoned with Mrs Dash salt free seasonings, dill & olive oil, hard boiled egg whites & celery
(4) Stir fry: grilled chicken, egg, asparagus & quinoa
(5) Steamed salmon seasoned with dill & lemon with side of asparagus
(6) Butternut
squash, steamed veggie meadley (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots), fresh
shrimp seasoned with Mrs Dash fiesta lime & hard boiled egg whites
You can’t out train a bad diet….I like to say that while abs are made in the gym, they are revealed in the kitchen

Lauren, would you eat these 6 meals all in one day or are these just dinners/lunches from different days?

Additionally, do you go by a certain diet philosophy?

I poked around your blog some, and if you're 5'7 and 120 lbs, working out at least a few times a week, and eating around 1800-1900 calories, isn't that eating under your TDEE? Does that mean you're trying to lose weight? I don't get it.

      Hi there,
First off, I may weigh more than 120lbs now – I don't weigh myself or own a scale. And to be honest, I don't know what a TDEE is & I don't believe too far into the "calculators" for what your caloric intake should be for your height/weight. I go by my goals, either cutting, building, or somewhere in between with calories – currently, I'm trying to lose some fat (not weight). Is there a more specific question I can help answer for you?

Since I started doing more weight training, I am finding myself to crave crunchy carbs (nature valley granola bars seem to do the trick, but Im really trying to cut back on carbs and get more calories from protein). Do you have any suggestions to curb these cravings? I'm not necessary trying to eliminate carbs but I feel I crave carbs more than I do protein, which is strange because I LOVE protein 🙂

Carbs are essential & should never be cut all together – the lowest carb days I EVER will have are 140g. Still, you want to make sure that carb quality is there (complex carbs), unfortunately, not those nature valley bars – they are yummy though.

I've found the more I eat healthy carbs I enjoy & the longer I stick to that, the less I crave!

What good complex carbs would you recommend daily?

When you eat Cottage Cheese, do you use fat free? Or do you keep it as clean as possible and go with full fat? I cut it out completely when I started training, but now I'm missing it and I'm curious. Thanks!

These daily diet meals, sound delicious and look wonderful- however that's A LOT of food to buy, and not so easy to do for someone trying to get fit on a budget. Any suggestions for buying healthy on a budget?
Also do you meal prep? Or cook the meals throughout the day?
