Cardio Day (Day 3) – 4/16

Cardio Day (treadmill):
-3min walking (warm up)
-25min:
     3min inclined walking (incline 10.0+)
     3min jogging, no incline
-3 min walking (cool down)

TIP OF THE DAY: Adjust health & fitness to YOU! Following my 4 weeks to tank top arms & a bikini booty schedule, today should have been 30minutes of HIIT cardio, but as I was warming up, I had a great sweat going & wanted to instead make it a steady state cardio session! As for all of my workouts & movements within this program & in general, I highly recommend tweaking things to fit what works best for you. To provide another example, if I say I did barbell squats, but because of back problems that movement with heavy weight irritates you, choose some other form of squatting! YOU know your body best, so listen to it when following others’ advice.

Feeling leaner by the day, how about you guys? Remember, you will get what you put into this. I will make a post with 6 of my meal ideas because I cannot emphasize enough how crucial your meals are!

Song of the Day: Alive -Krewella
This is one of my FAVORITE songs right now!

Did you do any ab workout today?

      OOPS – forgot 🙂
I really don't like training abs, so that's not surprising

I know you didn't have a leg day today but I'm really struggling to get the toned legs I want. I understand we all have different body types, but I am wondering if you have any suggestions to tone them. I finished my first marathon in November and while I'm not overweight by any means, I'm hoping to tone up and trim down before I start my next marathon training schedule. I currently am doing weight lifting, a lot of work on the stairmill and outdoor running…any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for continuing to inspire people of all ages and abilities! 🙂

      Hi there,
Everybody has problem areas – and I'm assuming yours are your legs. Your body will store & burn fat basically where it wants to; typically, the first places you gain are the last to go (possibly your legs). Also, lets go over the word "tone" – there is not such thing as toning. Your muscles are either built through weight training (anabolism) or break down (catabolism). Therefore, training your legs wont lead to reduced fat on your legs. What I recommend is keeping up with all your exercises (total body weights & cardio) PLUS DIET! Hopefully, you will see overall results & the fat in your legs will begin to diminish!
