KILLER ABS IN 3 EASY MOVES
The only thing standing between you
and a tight midsection is YOU! Your body quickly adjusts to workout routines
and without constant change ups, the same workout becomes less effective. Here are
three, quick moves that can be done in or out of the gym and will guarantee you
a burning core!
(1) STRADDLE CRUNCH
Begin by lying on your back legs
flat and arms extended overhead. Engage your core as you fold up, legs
separating into a straddle position, reaching a 90 degree angle with the
floor. Simultaneously, contract your core and reach your arms between your
extended legs. SLOWLY lower back to the ground. Repeat 10-15 times.
*To increase the difficulty,
refrain from letting your legs and arms touch the ground in between reps

(2) STRAIGHT LEGGED REVERSE CRUNCH
WITH EXTENSION
Begin by lying on your back, legs
down and arms by your side. Contracting your abs, keep you legs straight while
raising them to a 90 degree angle with the floor. Squeeze those abs once more as
you lift you butt and lower back off the floor and back down. SLOWLY lower your
legs back to the ground. Repeat 10-15 times.
(3) TWIST CRUNCH
Begin by lying on your bed, legs
down and arms overhead. Simultaneously, raise both your arms and your legs –
contracting your core – and reach arms to the left of both legs. SLOWLY lower
arms and legs back to the ground. Repeat movement, but reach arms to the right
of both legs this time. This counts as ONE rep. Repeat 8-12 times.
*To increase the difficulty,
refrain from letting your legs and arms touch the ground in between reps
*For a modified movement, bent legs
slightly at the knee
Repeat sequence 2-4 times depending
on whether you are a beginner or more advanced. As always, personalize this
workout to you – increase or decrease reps and sets as needed. As emphasized,
the key to making these moves count is to move VERY SLOWLY through the
movements.
Keep in mind, you can build abs of
steel, but they will never show through if there is a layer of fat in the way.
Doing ab exercises will not burn belly fat, it will only BUILD abdominal
muscles (5000 crunches won’t get rid of that belly fat). If you want those beautiful abs to be visible, keep making smart choices in the kitchen!
